ABDOUL SANFO (called Masta)
Masta has had this nickname since 1997, due to the definition of “being a masta”: he is considered a “boss” by those who know him. Everyone has been calling him that ever since he started working with bronze.
He began his apprenticeship around bronze when he was in his early twenties. He began by observing craftsmen in the Dapoya district, then more specifically in Nonsin, the bronze district. He then trained and worked for four years with his first boss. “I don’t just do finishes, that’s become my speciality, but I started with wax modelling and the whole bronze process apprenticeship”. He became very versatile, also with a view to finding more work.
In 2004, he became self-employed and continued his training at Espace Napam Beogo in Ouagadougou, where he was responsible for managing craft productions.
It was through Denis that he met Ambre. With Denis, he carried out the first finishes for Maison Intègre.
In 2023, he officially began working for Maison Intègre. With the situation in the country having deteriorated, he was welcomed by Maison Intègre and found a stable, tranquil environment “just what I need to do my job well!”, which motivated him to stay.
